Dear WikiCamp.in members,
I am glad to participate in Wikicamp.in and WOW,the diversity of people taking part in this event is just amazing. I’m thrilled to note that the participant list itself is hosted as a wikipage and it works( even as the list is overflowing!)
Given our pre-press background, experimenting with Wiki as a collaborative book publishing tool is just natural. We have created a wiki page( in Wikicamp.in http://wikicamp.in/wiki/index.php?title=Wiki2Booklet) to the effect. The idea is to create a short booklet that highlights the salient aspects of Wiki, Wikipedia, Wikicamp.in, and the people part of the wikicamp event. Treat this as an invitation imprint your thoughts on to the booklet.
The format of the booklet is 16 pages of A5( half the size of A4) in color, with images. The deadline is going to be 11:30 am Friday 23 Feb 2007. Whatever is there as of 11:30 23 Feb will go into the booklet( with some formatting and editing of course)
We are excited and thankful to you, and look forward to savor the dynamics.
PS: For those who don’t know what is pre-press, at Universal Print System we work on content to make them print ready. The process involves, one or all of proofing, scanning, layout, color retouching, sample printing etc.
